The portraits I create are produced with a variety of materials. These include oil pastels, pastel pencils, acrylic pen and inks. The substrates are 100lb acid free smooth surface papers or sanded colored papers. A light protective fixative is sprayed over the final art to ensure its safety and long life. The portrait is then bonded to a mounting board to provide wrinkle free stability over the lifetime of the artwork.

Below is an overview of how the process works.

The (1) first step is to sketch a light outline of the subject from a photo shown in this horse sample on the left. Then the (2)next step is to start the rendering of various colors.
